Coloring Tips

Use a chrome look for the outline trims: start with light gray, then add darker gray along the edges with a fine colored pencil for a metallic feel.

Flared pants pop best with sunset gradients—try burnt orange to golden yellow across each sweeping arc, then add darker tones at the fold lines to guide the flow.

Color the boombox with bold retro accent blocks (teal body, magenta buttons, and a dark gray speaker grille) to emphasize its boxy shapes and clean line art.

For the checkerboard floor tiles, alternate black and warm gray squares, then add tiny variations in gray using a light handheld pencil press to keep the tiles from looking flat.

Make the background skyline silhouettes stand out: keep them in muted colors (navy, dusty rose, or olive) so the skater remains the brightest focal point.
