Use a metallic palette for the treasure: gold/yellow coins with hints of orange and brown, plus teal or purple for goblets and gemstones.

Work from the biggest shapes first—color the rug’s rune tiles with 2–3 coordinated shades so the geometric pattern stands out beneath the dragon.

For the dragon’s scales, pick one main tone (deep green or smoky gray) and add “scale striping” by varying pressure to create darker bands along the coil.

Add sparkle effects by leaving the tiny star and shimmer outlines mostly white, then color only the surrounding shapes with light yellow or silver-gray.
