Yaks Coloring Page for Early Elementary Kids

Ages 6–8

This Yaks coloring page shows a gentle herd standing in a meadow under a big, cheerful sun. You’ll color three yaks in the foreground, including one nibbling grass and another looking sideways. A small yak pup stands close by while rounded rocks and a winding path fill the background. Thick, clean outlines and lots of open space make it perfect for early elementary kids. Fun detail: the sun has bold, spoke-like rays that are great for bright colors!

Coloring Tips

Use tan, light brown, and cream for the yaks’ shaggy coats, leaving the thick outline areas uncolored for extra pop.

Color the curved horns a darker brown or gray, then add a lighter highlight stripe to help the shape stand out.

Shade the meadow with two greens: base green for most grass tufts and a darker green in shadow spots under yak bodies.

Pick a sunny yellow/orange for the bold sun circle and rays, then add a light golden gradient near the center.

Use a single crayon/marker color for each yak feature (eyes, nose, grass), and let kids fill the large open spaces between yaks, fence, and clouds first.
